Well another Mother's Day has come and gone and I must say, my kids always take good care of me. There is always the pick of restaurants for dinner and then nice gifts. This time I got a card with cash! Yay, I always like cash and then my other son gave me a gift card to my favorite hobby store and a beautiful bracelet made from Multi Gemstone Beads and I love it. I am really a lucky mom!

I was surprised to hear from my dad today. I usually call him not him calling me. Anyway, my first thought was that something was wrong and it scared me. But no, nothing was wrong. He said he was thinking about me and knew that I was probably trying to figure out what to get him for father's day so he thought he'd say me the worry. LOL. He's a funny guy. It is true, I always prefer when someone just tells me what they want. Today's order was macanudo cigar . He says they are great, so cigars it is Dad!

I been kind of in the mood for a change around my house, but I'm just not sure what to do. I don't want anything big because basically everything looks really nice, and I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I want it to make a difference. Don't want much, do I? Ha. I was thinking that maybe changing out the switch covers around the house might be a cool thing to do if I can find some nice ones. They are small and inexpensive but they are noticeable.

Oh boy.  I don't know what my grown kids are going to do when we finally downsize.  It seems we have become a storage facility for them.  My garage is full of exercise equipment and random boxes of who knows what and now, my two guest room closets are full of percussion instruments ! I know I could tell them to get a storage unit but I hate to make them spend money, plus I know these instruments are very valuable, but I sure wish the economy would pick up where they could sell this stuff!

Well, I never was a big fan of silver jewelry because I always thought of it as cheap. However, times have changed and with the increase in gold prices one really has to look at silver. I noticed that now diamonds (nice diamonds) are even set in silver. I guess I just need to rethink my position if I want any jewelry in the near future.

Today I want to tell you about a program I found on the internet, but first a little back story. I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano. When I was young like maybe 8 my mom signed me up for lessons. Well, it lasted all of four weeks because I got so bored.

Later when I was about 14, a friend of mine tried to teach me to no avail. I just couldn’t get my fingers and hands working. Finally when I was about 30 years old, I signed up for lessons and the teacher started with scales and notes and music theory! I hated it! I just wanted to learn how to play songs. I resigned myself to the fact that I was not ever going to play piano.

Fast forward to retirement. My husband and I had a house built and there was a room that should have been a formal living room. It is bright and airy and has tall ceilings. I just didn’t know what I wanted to put in that room. In my mind’s eye I just kept seeing a baby grand piano. After a lot of talking and then searching online to find the best deal, we bought one. OMG it was beautiful!
 
I played around on it and searched high and low on the internet trying to do any and all of the online classes. No luck….I was discouraged but still not unhappy that I owned a piano.

Well, I was on YouTube one day and came upon a guy named Tim showing some things on the piano. His company/program is called PianoFool. There was just something about watching his one video that piqued my interest so I just had to try it.

So, let’s take a look at his program. I am a bit of a slow learner when it comes to the piano, but I have to tell you that this is the best program I have come across. Tim speaks my language and that is, learn how to play songs! I love it and I CAN PLAY a song now! Check out this video to see me play.

Now, you may be thinking, “oh big deal, she can play one song.” Well, let me tell you, I now know that by the time I complete the three other segments, that I will be able to play just about any song. It took me a little under a month to learn what you are seeing on the video, however; this program has shown me a method that allows me to play other songs as well which is so cool. When you are finished you will have the skills to go out and figure out how to play what you want to play like a pro.

PianoFool gives you the most direct approach to playing and Tim demystifies what you are actually doing. It is step by step with written instructions including diagrams and he shows you on video how to do it and how it should sound. Each section should be practiced for five days, so you should know your song in about a month.

There are four popular songs to learn and then when you are finished you will know all of the chords and how to play them like a pro on any song. It’s actually foolproof. If you have always wanted to learn to play the piano, then I would highly recommend you visit http://pianofool.com.

My oldest son is getting married at the beginning of next year. His girlfriend has three older kids so he is trying to get his apartment set up so that it will be comfortable for all of them. He has a little den and one spare bedroom. I suggest a bunk bed for the little den that the oldest boy could use and then put two bunk beds in the extra room for the two younger girls. I think it is nice to see him so concerned about their comfort. My baby has really grown up.

My youngest son as loved beating on drums since he was a little boy. A few years ago he bought himself and set and I never knew whether he actually played them or not. I talked to him yesterday and he said he was ordering a set of Dave Smith Drums . Really? Do you actually play? He said that he did and that his girlfriend was also learning to play. I guess that's cool, but I'm thinking I wouldn't want to be his neighbor.

I wanted to pick up something useful for my son and I know he is always buying scrubs. He's very tall so I have to order them online. I found a great place and ordered him three sets. They came this morning so I think it will be a nice little, unexpected surprise for him. I love surprising people for no reason!

I'm always looking for things that might make me feel better. Lupus tends to zap all of your energy so you can't even get any real exercise, which I know would help. Anyway, I was reading an article about how even women can get some benefit if they increase testosterone levels in their bodies. I thought that sounded very interesting. I would assume it would just be increased by a little bit. They say it will give a girl strength and energy. I might ask my doctor about this.
