Mortgage Nightmares
Well, I finally closed on my new house. I must say that the “American Dream” doesn’t seem quite as appealing when you actually step out there to grab it. It was exciting looking for the home…is was an awesome feeling finding the home of my dreams, especially when it happened to be a newly built home, BUT then the nightmare began when I started looking for a mortgage. It’s a frightening experience! I talked to my local bank and left feeling totally confused and with my confidence shaken. I told a co-worker this and she suggested I call a mortgage broker. I looked in the phonebook and there were so many listed, I simply closed my eyes and picked one. Trust me, that was the wrong thing to do. It started out nice, but when the loan papers came, nothing was like the man on the phone said it would be! I’m no financial wizard and sadly that is what some of these folks prey on. Another co-worker told me about a site where one can learn the ins and outs of the mortgage business. I checked it out and was certainly glad I did. Www.personalhomeloanmortgages.com had information that helps consumers understand the ins and outs of borrowing intelligently. The claim to use SecureTrust to protect consumers personal information and complies with FTC, DoNotCall & Can Spam regulations. What I found most helpful was their forums. I’m still no financial wizard, I certainly understand the mortgage business a lot better.
