Friends continued

The officers looked irritated at Cheryl’s question. “We’re packing him up, okay?” Cheryl looked to the other officer who shrugged. Two days later, Tim had still not returned to the cellblock and Cheryl had not heard anyone talking about the situation. She wondered if he was okay and what could possibly be going on. He had been through so much and he had been doing so well on his program of recovery, she hated to think about him having all these setbacks. So many times her work was unrewarded. Lots of inmates are career criminals who don’t want to change. But, Tim was different. He came from a good family and he was sorry about the mistakes he had made. Cheryl always felt good about working with a guy like that. She sighed deeply and got up from her desk. Flipping on the television that was perched precariously on top of the file cabinet, she grabbed the remote and began surfing through the channels looking for something of interest. She stopped on a news show when she saw a picture of Tim Morgan on the screen. She turned up the volume. Ten TV has found out that Morgan has pled guilty to “Conspiracy to Murder.” In his confession Mr. Morgan related that he made plans to have McWilliams kill his parents. It is believed that the motive was the estate he would inherit at the time of their deaths. Police sources report that, believe it or not, it seems that Morgan made a written agreement to split his inheritance with McWilliams. The confession, it is believed, was brought about when McWilliams turned the written agreement over to the authorities. The End
