To start, I have to tell you I am no fitness guru.  In fact, I hardly exercise at all, which is exactly why I was very happy to be selected to review the KettleWorx system.  I knew that if I had to review it, I would use it.

So, two weeks ago, I received my KettleWorx in the mail.  My husband was there when I opened it up.  He suggested that I sit and watch the DVDs first before even trying.  I can tell you that when it comes to exercising and exercise programs, my husband is a guru.  He has been into fitness since he was 30 and he is still into it at 62.  He lifts weights, runs, etc., so when I put the DVD on, he was watching.

His first reaction was that some of the movements were strange.  He also wasn’t so sure it could live up to the claims.  Even I had to admit it looked rather easy.  I watched the first DVD and then I had to go to work.

When I came home, my husband told me he had watched the three main ones, Resistance, Core and Cardio.  He had also gone out and bought a ten pound Kettlebell for him to use.

We decided to go ahead and do it together that night.  We put in the Resistance DVD and did the first routine.  I got all the way through it without too much trouble or sweat.  My husband went through it like it was nothing.  His comment was, “It didn’t feel like much, but we’ll see.”  We agreed we would commit to it for the six weeks.

The next morning was hysterical.  Both of us woke up and could barely move.  Every muscle in my body hurt, including muscles I didn’t even know I had.  My husband felt the same way.

It’s been two weeks since we started and we are definitely going to stick with it.  For me, lesson 2 was much more difficult and I really have to fight through the cardio.  My husband is absolutely loving this program.  He is doing some of the spot workouts on the off days and went out and got himself a set of kettle weights.  He’s told his buddies about it and actually said he’s going to get rid of his normal dumbbell and weight set.  He is totally sold.

I will say that even though I can’t really get through a whole session without stopping, I am feeling a bit better.  I have more energy and my jeans are fitting a bit better. (We are, by the way following the diet plan that came with it.)  In two weeks I’ve lost 5 pounds and I think that’s pretty good.
