Electronic Smoking with Smoke 51
I just tried a great product called Smoke 51. It is an electronic cigarette. I’ve bumped into a few people using electronic cigarettes and really felt compelled to try one. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first, but I am a believer now! Smoke 51 comes with two rechargeable batteries and filters that hold nicotine, along with a charging unit. It seemed very simple to use.
First, you charge the battery and then you screw on the filter. The first thing I noticed about this product was it seemed to be very high quality. When it came to pricing, it was a bit high with the starter kit running about $129, however compared to some others I’ve seen, the higher price did seem to be warranted. The cartridges were higher priced as well, but upon closer look, they are a higher capacity cartridge than most. The literature says one cartridge equals two packs of cigarettes, so cigarette for cigarette, the price is about average.
Once I had the cigarette charged, it was time for the test. Now I’ve been smoking for a long time so I did not have high expectations. I took the first drag and not much happened then I remembered seeing someone say on a blog that you had to get them started with some quick puffs. I did this, but was still just not quite getting it. I asked my husband to take a puff. He took a long slow drag and about choked to death…lol.
Anyway, the thing I learned is that there is a “technique” to smoking these. Drag in rather long and slow and you will have no problems. When I got the technique down, I was shocked! It was truly like smoking a cigarette. Even the little bite you get at the back of your throat when you inhale a real cigarette was there.
My husband was equally as impressed and he is a radical smoker of more than 50 years. While I understand any smoker’s initial reaction to smoking a “fake” cigarette, I strongly suggest you try this. I now sit at my desk smoking and it is so nice.

As soon as I got home I opened the packaging and screwed one of the cartridges into the smaller battery. The smaller battery is more realistic to a real cigarette but of course will hold less charge because it is a smaller battery. Unfortunately the batteries were not precharged. What I ended up with was some of the nicotine solution in my mouth and not vaporized by the battery. Mainly because I was puffing my hardest and no glowing indicator light was showing up at the tip. The included instruction manual did indicate that for the first use I would need to charge the batteries, but who needs instructions? Eventually charging the battery is what I did. I've not had the same problem since.
After charging the battery for a couple hours I was finally able to esmoke! You just take a couple small puffs to get the nicotine solution vaporizing. The Smoke51 Electronic Cigarette started working just like it did in the mall. I was impressed with the taste of the tobacco flavor cartridge and the amount of smoke it was producing. Quite nifty, I was smoking in my living room!
So far here's what I've found about the Smoke51 electronic cigarette. Overall I like it. The cartridges taste good. The last order I placed was actually the menthol cartridges and I usually smoke regulars but when it comes to epuffing it's a whole new ball game. I now prefer the menthol cartridges over the tobacco flavor. They taste minty and are very refreshing and relaxing of course. As far as how long the cartridges last, I've found that if you are about a pack a day smoker you will go through at least one cartridge a day. I've started one in the morning and started another one in the evening. Even though the cartridges don't live up to the 2 full packs some companies advertise. I still save money vs buying analog cigarettes. The equivalent esmoke price for someone who smokes a pack a day with these is about 3-4 dollars a day which isn't bad. I am quoting mall prices though, If you buy online you can buy larger quantities at a better price of course.
I recommend keeping one battery charged at all times because a newly charged battery always smokes the best and gives the biggest smoke output. I bought the starter kit that has 2 batteries with it so I can always keep one charging. I like to take one to work with me and keep one on charge at home, then when I get home I switch out the batteries and put the one I had at work on charge. I found this works the best and you have a fresh battery in the morning and in the evening, an optimal smoking experience is what I like to call it.
