Felipe's Restaurant

Guest author: Kyle Reynolds

I called my buddies on the way home from work and suggested we meet up at this new Mexican restaurant called Felipe's that opened up in the downtown area of our small town in Bertale, WI. I was excited about dinner as I had to skip lunch due to a meeting that ran extra long. After arriving home from work I take a quick shower and then check my phone messages. After verifying all the windows and doors are locked I punch the code in my adt security alarm and I have 30 seconds to get out and the door closed before the alarm goes off. No problem, I make it to my car in plenty of time and I jam to Felipe's. When I arrive my friends are already there and have a table for us. Over small talk and chips and salsa we make our selections and the waiter without writing anything down remembers all of our orders, very impressive. I wish I could say the chef's cooking was as impressive as our waiters memory. As far as Mexican food goes the best thing this restaurant had going for it was the chips and salsa. Other than that, the food was edible at best. But then again, we are all guys and guys aren't that picky in what they digest as long as it is edible. So after crossing another restaurant off the "do not eat" list we all head our separate ways until we meet again on Friday night.
