TV broadcast bring's New Year's Eve to life

Authored by Rickey Combs

I've always lived in a small town without much to do, so my New Year's Eve celebrations have consisted of staying home and watching all the countdown shows on satellite TV from CannonSatellite.com. Throughout the years my favorites have changed some, but the traditional favorite I always tuned in to was the "New Years Rockin' Eve" show. I loved the show the most when it was hosted by Casey Kasem, since we grew up listening to his countdown on the radio. I've always loved hearing the musical performances while trying so hard to stay awake to watch the ball drop in Times Square. Some years I was able to stay awake better than others, and probably fell asleep before the ball dropped more times than not. Being from a small town, I also enjoyed seeing so many people in one area. There are more people in Times Square on New Year's Eve than there are in my entire town! While there are a lot of other shows now available to watch on New Year's Eve, I have to say that the good old "New Years Rockin' Eve" program will probably remain my favorite for years to come.
